Well last weekend, Mark was a victim of crime!! Not so sinister as it sounds, the dumbo merely left his bag in a pile on the floor at a Karaoke bar in Holborn somewhere. Who knows I wasn't there. If I were it would not have happened - though I was out with them earlier and blame myself also for not offering to take said bag home with me!! Well all is clear in hindsight, as it always is.
Anyway his bag went missing, well rather Mark went to collect it at the end of the night and it was nowhere to be found. So some nasty pasty had STOLEN the bag! He ended up staying at a friends for the night as I was out staying at Danni's in Surbiton. So Mark had to come out there to collect my keys to let himself in the next day - silly boy!!
The damage is one Diesel bag, an i-pod, a Paddington bear DVD (sorry Oliver we shall order another) and his much treasured Nike sunglasses, oh and more importantly the key to the flat - thus the reason he could not go home that night! We were lucky though, we have super fantastic Marks and Spencer contents insurance and a quick call to them on the Monday found that Mark was able to make recovery of the costs for the new bag, new sunnies and a new i-pod, plus the headphones. I say headphones as they cost 15 quid, owing to the fact that they are fancy ones that go right in your ear so you don't annoy other people and you don't need them so loud.
So this week has been crazy, Mark has been out late a couple of nights with sports and I have been having to get up at 3am (not happy) and let him in. Though ok as it's not normal for one to remember that you don't have keys. It's only natural that you assume you have them, tonight I had forgotten that I didn't have keys and that Mark had left our only set with Elias (lovely guy - only praise be given to Elias) at David's Deli on the corner.
So Elias had them today and after the shop closed he left them at the lovely Italian place La Smorfia for us to pick up later..... what a star!! Was good as I was worried I was going to have to stay at a hotel for the night just to have a bed to sleep in! Plus tomorrow we leave for Spain for a week, so would have been annoying to have been away from home tonight.
Anyway 'tis now late, just before 12pm, the boy is not home as yet, its Friday night fun of course, so hopefully he won't be too late. I had my Friday night fun on Oxford Street with a credit card.

Let the Music Speak... Surbiton Street Party
Well this weekend just gone, I participated to help out some friends who organised the Maple street, Let the Music Speak street party, in Surbiton. It was great fun, well done Sarah and Audrey for doing lots of work for it. The whole day was to help a childrens hospice, and it was such a success that they plan to make it a yearly event.
Danni and I helped out to raise some money too. I stayed with Danni, who lives in Surbiton (about 12 minutes out of Waterloo and a lovely leafy green area) on the friday night and on Saturday morning the sun was shining when we dressed up as Tinkerbell and a Ladybug, to entertain small children with our little hula hoop stall.
We raised about 12 pounds, good condsidering it was 50p a go, to see who could hula hoop the longest. We didn't raise that much because about an hour in, a lovely little 8 year old girl called JoJo, hula hooped for 33 minutes straight. Yes 33 minutes, she was amazing, was no effort to her at all. It even poured down with rain for about 15 minutes of that, and she only stopped because she was shivering and her mum thought she'd done enough. Oh well lucky JoJo who won the big jar of Jelly babies.
The rest of the day we were helping with the charity raffle, letting random children play with the hula hoop, dancing in the street, eating hotdogs (including polish ones...yum), playing on the music bus, and in its ball pool - its for the kids but you know! Then at around 6pm, we headed over to Rubicon, the place to be in Surby, to hang out with Mark, Maristela, Barns, Don, Merry, Diane, Joe, Ching, Tracey, Dixon and the birthday boy Ben - otherwise known as Kiwi Guy!! Danni and I ducked home to get changed, I kept poking people with my wings.
Was lots of fun and in the scheme of things found a fabulous Italian restaurant...haven't had decent Italian food in so long.....

London Bridge is ..... where i work!
Yippee, I have officially moved work locations from E15 to SE1 – hooray, now I am properly working in London. That and you cannot get any more London, than London Bridge. For those not familiar with the greatness that is the UK post code system, E15 refers to Stratford, which is area 15 of East London and SE1, is South East 1, so London Bridge and central – it would be more central if it were like SE1A. That is like Marks work address which is EC1A, being East Central.
It is great it’s right outside the London Bridge tube station where I catch the Jubilee line down from West Hampstead. It’s good but it is still 25 minutes on the tube and because it is really busy (lets play sardines!) I end up standing the whole way if I don’t get on it before 8am, which is not so great. Bearing in mind that I used to catch the overland Silverlink train to Stratford which is a 30 minute train ride, but it’s so much quieter (the tube is really noisy), I get a seat easily and if it’s sunny I get to see the sun! So as you can see there are pros and cons.
At London Bridge the bonuses are being near the tube in a more desirable area, near a post office and the bank, more importantly a shoe repair shop, and just a 20 minute walk to Marks work (London is really a great walking city, it’s really not as big as people think). I am also near the river, and near Borough Markets and other great places to get food at lunchtime too. And so cheap, I can get a drink, lovely foccacia (with meat, cheese, roasted vegetables) and crisps or fruit for £3…which is extremely cheap for central London!!
As for Mark, well he was onto a good thing straight away with his job; he leaves home at 8:30am and is in at work with a coffee by 9-9:10am, half his luck! So as you can tell he is still at City and Guilds. He was made permanent earlier in the year, so he is very happy to stay working there, especially as he will have other opportunities to move around in-house, should he so choose.
Sorry for the lake of blogging as of late, I can tell you are all bored by the lack of traffic on the site………so sorry. Will be better from now on promise!
